Mr Graham Bell, ... ( 1 month ago by Futurebobbers)
Mr Graham Bell, your newfangled "tele-phone" is pointless. There's no one to phone and it's quicker to send a telegram in morse. A foolish idea. :)
Consider it this ... ( 1 month ago by loomerlol)
Consider it this way. The earliest practical aircraft were one seater, extremely slow, low altitude. Pointless, really, except as a curiosity.
Then we developed it a little more. and a little more. And a little more. Now we're flying kilometres above the ground faster than the speed of sound with multiple passengers. Or consider the computer. We went from taking an hour to work out 21 divided by 7, to what you posted on. Everything star
ts simple.
Logically this is ... ( 1 month ago by gonzo1275)
Logically this is the next step. In fact it's already being developed. This idea has been in many cyberpunk novels. So it's inevitable. And not just recreating but creating new things.
Just imagine, when you order something online, you won't have to wait until they send it, and hope it gets to you in one piece. Instead, you essentially will buy the code and it will be sent instantaniously to a nano-printer type device in your home or a corner store and be built atom by atom..hot off the press.
And it will be ... ( 1 month ago by gonzo1275)
And it will be built from basic elements...from recycled things like and old shoe and some old tires...broken down the their basic elements and reused to build, say, a brand new cell phone...or a ham sandwich.
"Computers were ... ( 1 month ago by gonzo1275)
"Computers were never thought to be of much use" That comment makes no sense. Did you mean to say, that back then, before computers hit the market, we had no idea that they were going to become such a usefull tool in our everyday lives. Granted, back then they had limited uses, but they were very usefull for whoever were using them.
That's only one ... ( 1 month ago by gonzo1275)
That's only one prediction, and yes, it is a very popular one at the momet. So be careful what you read, cause it may go down in YouTube history like a dumb-ass prediction that some guy read about and never came true because not evryone will go for such a silly idea.

Ha, cool I got -4 :)
Yeah, this is will be a great tool for creating(development)/recreating(production) things. But also, this is will be a great tool to destroy every industry except information/entertainment. If you have one of this machine, you don't need to buy any physical goods. you just need mental goods and
information. (you can't create music/singing/news/feeling ... out from that)
Another of star ... ( 1 month ago by thekillingmoon101)
Another of star trek technologies coming to fruition - replicator. Gross products for the printers today, perhaps molecules and atoms for the print carts of tomorrow. Life on Mars would be far easier with one of these things. We now have P.A.D.D.S.,hypersprays, wireless technology, communicators, all we actually want is the holodeck anyway.

Wouldn't work. ... ( 1 month ago by gotoenterprises)
Wouldn't work. Quantum level? You would have to observe where a given quantum particle is and its velocity in order to do anything with it. Heisenberg Principle! Atomic scale, maybe.
Anything is ... ( 1 month ago by lichtakira)
Anything is possible. Imagination is the power.:)
Why we think it isn't possible that is because we didn't find the way to make it works yet. :) It will takes time. a long time, very long, very very long. ;)
