I feel so deprived. As a guitar player from an early age, didn't matter- I never got to see Jimi perform live. I know, I know, you probably scream and cry, that your little world has let you down- but who in your measly little world tells you you're made out of Gold, and can't be sold?
Oh, the lyrics are over the top.
BTW, I reckon he wrote this was because he was in the Army in Vietnam- "Are you Experienced?" Well, he has. One of the greatest guitar players I have EVER heard in my life.

Actually he broke his ankle on a jump and milked it and complained of back pain as well. The feigning to be gay was a myth.

I dunno man, I've heard from many different sources that the feigning gay was a myth and he actually just really milked his broken ankle. I guess it shall forever remain a mystery. =P

You are wrong - this is not the version from "Concerts" (`82). I should know as that is my all time favorite Jimi live record. But this is a great version also; perhaps it it taken from some of the other Winterland dates (

no he did break his ankle he even says it in an interview. It is on youtube. and "are you experienced" is a song about personal mythology and free form thinking. That's how he put it
