there's a bunch of ... ( 1 month ago by Tayuku28)
there's a bunch of different contributing factors to a speaker system's alleged "clarity" and sheer wattage isn't one of them. All wattage is is the amount of space you have at certain volumes before the amp can't drive the speakers any louder. It all depends in the class of amp, the power going in, the signal going in as well as the total harmonic distortion rating. Most computer speakers are 10%, when a good system should have around 0.07%. At 10%, you'd be lucky to get anything good out of it

I don't know why it posted up here. It should be a reply to Shorty's post. In either case, the THX marking is an inflated term. You'll only really get THX certification if you're really close, 2 feet and 4 inches to be exact. Real THX certification needs you to be at least 12 feet away from the source. Try that with these dinky little things. Besides, you'd be lucky to get 200 watts from these things. At a normal THD+N, you'd be looking at less than 100. In the above post, read "almost" as "all"

What do you mean ... ( 3 weeks ago by 31Orcas)
What do you mean it's not a subwoofer? Of course it's a speaker put there to play the low octaves because by definition, that's what a subwoofer is. I have seen the Z-2300's driver in car audio before...
And 110 DB's is probably loud enough for most people anyway.

so a quick question ... ( 2 weeks ago by mexboiii)
so a quick question. your room has tile, as does mine. does that make the bass feel more powerful or focus the bass towards a part of the room. because that's what happens with me (not with the z-2300 but with another setup.) the bass is ight near my computer, but really strong near the corner of my room.. im getting the z-2300 anyways, since the bass is stronger than what i have. so back to my original question. having tile in the room, does it affect the sound in any way?

having bare tile ... ( 1 week ago by 1wrestlerdude)
having bare tile will redirect the sound at angles, so yes, it might. try facing the actual subwoofer speaker toward the wall, or by a down-firing sub

Well, I had a less-powerfull setup before I bought myself a Z2300. I also had that problem .sub was only 30 Watt Rms, quite smaal ... so, couldn't fill the room withe bass like this 2.1 does. 120 Watt Rms shows in quite huge spread of bass in the room.
It is firstly the Wattage of the sub you bought that will determine your sound. So, you will still have this effect, because the sound waves can develop best towards a larger distance (in this case: other corner of the room)
Is it true that ... ( 3 days ago by misterhed)
Is it true that these speakers are lacking in midrange?
No, not really. ... ( 1 day ago by RikTamegat)
No, not really. Sometimes, if you have your sub completely open, then the bass might get somewhat louder than the midrange tones. But if you listen normal music, it produces good sound on all ranges
