The opening credits alone were worth the price of admission, and the movie was simply magic. Christopher Reeve was the perfect Superman, and his Clark Kent was so different and weaker in character that it really appeared to be a different person. The way he confronted his tragedy also proved he was Superman in real life.

The first series knew how to use special effects better than Sup Returns. Christopher Reeve looked like he was flying, and the new one looks too CG.

Isnt it interesting as Superman III & IV even Superman Returns titles look extremly a lot more lame compared to 1 & 2. Funny I thought things were supposed to progress with time not deminish.

Yeah, to be honest, I thought the Superman Returns title was way overdone. It also reminded me of Doctor Who, when I saw the S get a tube a fly at you I was screaming, OMG DOCTOR WHOOOOOOOO!

Ive always felt a Dr Who movie would be quite similuer to Superman considering they have similuer backgrounds. They both come from a superior planet with superior inteligence.

This is the first movie I ever saw in theaters when I was a kid. I'll never forget how the music and the credits hooked me immediately. Similar to what everyone else said I got chills and still get them to this day whenever I throw this film in the DVD player. The only thing that bothers me is how the title character doesn't get top billing. That's just wrong. I know Brando and Hackman were top dogs back then but damn lol.

Christopher Reeve WAS Superman! To this day he still stands as the greatest embodiment of that character. This credit sequence is also one of the greatest ever made. John Williams score and the graphics are incredible..even now! I remember seeing this in the theater as a kid being just blown away by it. The sound has since been remixed. Still nice. RIP Chris.
