Lets Just Face It.. ... ( 2 days ago by artworkbyjasonDOTCOM)
Lets Just Face It... If it wasn't for Hendrix, then Stevie Ray Vaughan ,and many other guitar players, wouldn't play the way they do or did. Hendrix was so innovative, and influenced SO many guitarists (Read his biography). So NO matter how much you love SRV, Hendrix came first, and he made his mark as a Legend.
Just enjoy the music, and stop the comparisons. They were both awesome.
Just imagine how amazing it would've been, if they could've ever jammed together. WOW.
You are right, ... ( 2 days ago by grga888)
You are right, cause Hendrix came first and cause of all the inovation, influence and style of his playing, Hendrix is #1, but you can't in any way deny SRV's bringing back the guitar as blues and rock and roll back in focus too, his influence and mark in world, his wild inovative style of playing, passion and tehnicall skills! SRV is a legend! Only one to reach and compare to Hendrix! Both were on the same musical level!
SRV comes as #2 of the best ever!

Would never deny SRV. I truly think he was underrated alot. Deserved way more credit for his talent in the realm of great guitartists.
There are "unlimited" numbers of perfect technical guitar players in the world. But only a few can add that feeling and soul like Hendrix, and SRV did. To me, that's what music is all about. That unexplainable added sound... And That is why they are Legends.
Awesome!
I totally agree! ... ( 2 days ago by grga888)
I totally agree! There are many great guitar players as you said, but most important is the soul, passion and feel for music and the guitar! That is not something you can learn in a book, or by studying music and taking lessons, that is something you gotta have it in inside, a pure talent and everything to be natural! Yoo may see some guitar players who are great, but when you come to guys like SRV and Hendrix, all others seem so small and they all fall in water in front of this 2 guys!

you guys are trying to compare the best of the best guitarists, putting them in an order but really they all are incredible. Stevie tore his guitar up with incredible rock/ blues rifts. Jimmy was a big effects man himself and brought on a dawn of new music. Page was a rock guitarist that used some blues roots but also created a basis for alot of the modern rock today. They are the three gods of guitar.
I have to say it ... ( 11 hours ago by grga888)
I have to say it too, that SRV, Page, Hendrix are guitar gods and the best ever, I mostly put them like this along with Beck and Clapton who are gods too:
1.Jimi Hendrix
2.SRV
3.Jeff Beck
4.Jimi Page
5.Eric Clapton

SRV&DT tore this up. AMAZING performance. I like how they take it at a slower pace and turn vc into some stanky funk. Jimi played it fast and loose more like an apocalyptic free jazz meltdown. I like how the JHE vc is warped with hot New Orleans hoodoo dread and end of the ages ennui, and i also like how SRV&DT bring out the soulfulness and down-home warmth in their vc. Who's better? It doesnt matter which one is 'better' - as if one kind of perfection is 'better' than another. Both rule!
You got that right, ... ( 4 hours ago by grga888)
You got that right, both Jimi and Stevie did an amazing job on this song, nobody else's version comes close! There is simply no better version between them two, both are hot and the best ever! Simply no comparing goes and it is not needed at all, both are perfectionists in any way!
