| Congolese music WAS the best in the world untill the 80s. But the new generation of their music is pathetic. How ironic they have all eliminated blowing instruments like saxaphones and trumpets which they excelled in. |

| Yes, I pray and hope that the mighty Congolese rise again. Growing up in Kenya there was no music but Congolese. Great singers, great guitarists, mind blowing saxaphone and trumpet blowers. Where is Empompo Deyesse, Nzenze, Verckys, Bokelo...? I love Franco, Dr. Nico, Verckys and Johnny Bokelo but Tabu Ley Rochereau in his heydays was unrivaled in Africa (If not the world). And for all guitar lovers check videos by Stanley Jordan. |
