Gladiator is a superb film in my opinion, and demonstrates the effectiveness of brilliant direction. The song is an example of arrangement/direction Eva steals it from Sting.

I can't take Eva Cassidy's whiny version:S Sting's voice suits this song so much better, and his song has so much more feeling to it. It almost makes me cry, while this one just kinda annoys me.

I just really don't see how you can find Eva Cassidy's version better than Sting's. Stings voice suits this song a million times more, and the way he changes the song makes it so fucking much better than the Eva Cassidy version. I only think Eva Cassidy's version is slow, annoying, and whiny.

Eva Cassidy didnt write the song, she re-made it. Its a beautiful version nonetheless, probably the best one.
