Just stop throwing in the "Can you do better? No?" I've seen too many times of this - be creative. From a logical standpoint, whether I can improvise better does not alter the fact that Varnus cannot improvise well. To answer your question: I am confident that I can do better than him, especially with Sophie assisting with registrations. She is a lot more than a crescendo pedal. But I won't post a video myself improvising. I'm not good enough.

Indeed, at least he's trying, but of course it depends on the style he's using, but the whole point of improvising is that you can't go wrong in it, you're making it up, so is there such a thing as not "improvising" well?

she's the Assistant Organist there, Daniel Roth is still the Organist Titulaire, i'm not sure about Eric Leburn, I don't think he has much to do with Saint Sulpice in terms of Organist.

´nt allowed to be on the organloft without permisson from Daniel Roth. At least, that´s how it used to be. Witch is both a shame and very stupid, I think.

I think its still true, he is the titulaire after all, no one is allowed in the Organ loft without his permission, with the odd exception e.g. cleaners.

well, I don't know him personally, but from what i've seen and heard, he's a very charming, welcoming man, so's his wife, I'll find out in a few years though, I'm studying with him in 2011. Also, you can't really blame him, he's 66 this year, and people do get quite cinical at that age etc. a lot of big churches/cathedrals have that reputation to. Anyway, I can't wait to meet him.

I am 16 years old, and I'm visiting Daniel in 2011 when I finish school, during my gap year, I hope to study Improvisation and Harmony with him plus other things, then onto University hopefully on an Organ Scholarship.

éa! It would´nt be a shame to study for Latry, Xaver, Daniel or perhaps Philippe Delacour, but I´m lucky to have a fantastic organ teacher already. He can without doubt be compared to Daniel, both as an exellent performer and as an improviser.
