exothermic means it gives out heat and there fore the sorounding gets warmer while the actual content gets colder- thats why it turns into ice -not fully why. coz super still water and other factors.

it's simply a supersaturated solution & since the reaction is exothermic it's best to cool it beforehand........... a supersaturated solution simply needs to be agitated resulting in a crystalisation chain reaction..... good work !
