Yes I have been to Trinidad, and more than once, and Jamaica..what are you saying I am Jamaican. I have been to most of the Bigger Caribbean Islands, Dont get mi wrong I love Trinidad, My Paper and mi Doubles in di morn and a corn soup in St. James after drinking up all dat rum

Thanks flybossni66a6. my point exactly!!! and I'm Trini! My people and my culture comes first before anybody's! I'm not saying I won't support Jamaica, but I'm saying that Jamaican's show enough support and loyalty to their own, why does Trinidad have to follow? Trini people Support your own first! Build Your House first! Feed your House first! Nothing is wrong with helping others but help those who want and need help. Appreciate every culture, but support your own! being black has nothing to do

I am 50% trini & 50% jamaican and I am proud of my 2 islands, as I believe they are the best Caribbean islands & i couldn't ask for 2 better countries really, if i was from somewhere else I would be jealous. I mean I am Soca vs. Bashment/Dancehall (calypso vs. reggae)& 2 tell u the truth i find these arguements rather pathetic, because I do not particularly care who wins out of the two as I support them both 100% and thus remain impartial with this current debate!!!!

essex1mass, this debate started based on a comment i made months ago about trinidadians supporting their own. It has nothing really to do with soca vs reggae! My point is that Jamaicans are very patriotic and loyal to their music, and that is admirable to the highest. My plea is that Trinidadians and Tobagonians become loyal and start supporting their own. I'm not insinuating in any way that we stop supporting other cultures, in no way am I saying that. But anyone would feed their house first...

before feeding another's. Everyone will want to build their home first before they can help others. So I think you have it a little mixed up because of what this debate turned into. It's not about Soca vs Reggae, because I love Reggae and Jerk chicken. I'm also saying that no other Island including Jamaica should have a problem with Trinidadians wanting to be patriotic and supportive of their own rather than being supportive and patriotic to Jamaica's or any other country. choose who we want to be loyal to as humans, but we (trinbagonians) also have the right to induce, and encourage our own people to support ours more. I can never agree to any Jamaican or American or any other culture other than Trini's, to take it upon themselves to convince us to support theirs and at the same time detests when "Trini's" try to reach out to their own people! Yes we are all one people but we share different economies. This matters the most.

I did not say that this debate was about soca vs. reggae, if you took the initiative to read my comments properly, then you would have realised that I meant because I am from trinidad & jamaica then I (myself) am soca vs. bashment (in a sense referring to both Trinidad & Jamaica) without actually saying this debate was about music, therefore I believe you are the one that has things mixed up!!!

furthermore Jamaica is not the second poorest, Dominica is..perhaps a class or two in Caribbean studies will straighten you out. And just because a country is deemed the poorest doesn't necessarily mean they are worse of. Some has to be classified rich and some poor. just as if i had 5 million tom had 4 million and you had 3 million. You would be the poorest, doesn't mean you are poor though
